Tough Jobs

My previous post made me think of jobs that are tough because they require special skills or maybe a special combination of skills to perform well. The BA (Business Analyst in the information technology area) job is such a job. BAs need business skills/knowledge, technical skills/knowledge, facilitation skills, and so on. Some BAs come from a very technical background. Some come from a business background.

In one of my BA roles/jobs, I recall there was a “steady flow” of BAs. BAs came on the project and quickly left the project. The manager found fault with most of them. I stayed on the project for quite a while. I overheard the manager say that I learn quickly.

In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
