Cheese
This #Throwback Thursday I remember the cheese Guyana produced when I was a child. The cheese was salty and I didn’t like it very much. However, that cheese made really good cheese straw. I loved cheese straw. Sharp cheese makes very good cheese straw. Now, I prefer to eat other cheeses with my bread or… Continue reading

Throwback
I was young, but I remember quite a lot about Watooka Day School. A post in Facebook made me think of pony combs I wanted when I was a student there. My friend Claudia wore them all the time. I liked her fat ponytails. I remember we wore brown and cream on regular days and… Continue reading

Library
My phone is working again. I am able to make calls and receive text messages again. This Thursday, I remember my days as a frequent user of the nearby New Carrollton library. I visited the library quite frequently to complete assignments/work. A lot of times I walked over to the library using a shorter path… Continue reading

Experience as an auditor
Remembering (throwing back to) my days at the Office of the DC Auditor. The work was interesting and I became a much better writer. I worked on several audits/reviews. One of the audits I worked on was the audit of ANC 4C. The (published) report is available at: https://dcauditor.org/report/audit-of-advisory-neighborhood-commission-4c-for-fiscal-years-2000-through-2003-as-of-march-31-2003/. You can tell that I contributed to… Continue reading

A day in Gainesville
Today I throwback to a day that stands out in Gainesville, FL. When I lived in Gainesville, I was working towards my PhD. My days were filled with lots of work. I enjoyed my PhD courses and tried to do my best at assignments. I made time for other things too. I have several videos… Continue reading

Federal and State Regulations
#ThrowbackThursday Today I throwback to an assignment I prepared for one of my database courses at NCU now National University. In the paper, I pulled together federal and state regulations/rules, standards, and policies that pertain the data protection. The paper was similar to a document I prepared on an audit project at Grant Thornton. However,… Continue reading

Technical Writing
#Throwback to the time I was considering applying for Technical Writing positions as a side job while I complete my PhD. Here is the post: https://fahmeenaodetta.blogspot.com/2024/04/technical-writer.html. Today, I am working on obtaining work writing papers for students and also go after work writing technical documents and requirements for technical departments. If you need assistance with a… Continue reading

Evaluator
#ThrowbackThursday Today I am remembering the work I did evaluating models created by a “system” (a prototype to automatically extract class models/diagrams from natural language requirements text). Analysts usually create the models so the “system” would affect the work of Analysts. Just another example of technology affecting jobs. I wrote more about the work in… Continue reading

The introduction of the euro
#ThrowbackThursday I recall that as a student at GWU I studied the introduction of the euro in Europe. At that time, introduction of the new currency was very close to being implemented. I worked on a group assignment on the costs, issues, and risks associated with the introduction of the new currency. Continue reading
FEATURED
I am working to be published.
I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.
About THIS BLOG
I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.
I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. Usability/user experience is one of my topics. Click on the ‘usability’ label/tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. I have new ideas you may be interested in. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.
