Convenience

Continuing my thought on the Personal Benefits of Plant Care, the available substitutes for living houseplants look just as good in the home but they do not require watering or other care. I had some of those substitutes too. They are made from plasticy materials but look quite real. The convenience (of not watering the plant or “taking care” of the plant in other ways) comes at a price. There will be no learning of patience or obtaining the other benefits associated with plant care.

I know that convenience is important. Some people have regular houseplants but come up with creative ways to take care of them (that are more convenient).

One of my papers I submitted for publishing included details on convenience as a motivating factor. Shoppers were motivated to use new technology (such as an app) because the new technology made shopping more convenient.

FEATURED

I am working to be published.

I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.

About THIS BLOG

I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.

I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.

I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
