Gone are the days
When students like me struggled to obtain details on countries, history, and so on for assignments
The Voice Paris assignment for my French high school class is an example
I needed details on the important places in Paris for the assignment
I had much difficulty finding the needed material
I did a lot to obtain what I needed – I went to library, asked my parents for assistance
My parents came through
I managed to prepare an adequate assignment
These days
There is the internet with websites such as the Google search website
A simple search such as ‘Paris experience’ provides lots of information for assignments such as Voice Paris
The user is connected with way more than needed
There is information on French hotels, flights to France, reviews by tourists, French culture and I could go on and on
It can be viewed as an information overload.
