Downtown Areas

I stumbled upon an interesting article on developing downtowns. Here it is: https://www.bdcnetwork.com/investing-downtowns-pays-cities-regions?page=3

More economic/business activity should lead to more demand for office and manufacturing space, which should lead to more investment in downtown areas. In Guyana, Georgetown has the largest and most established downtown area (which makes sense as it is the capital). The downtown area is expected to grow as economic/business activity increases. Linden’s downtown area is, of course, not as established/developed. Linden is a small town that depended on bauxite as its main source of income. The bauxite company’s office buildings and other facilities were probably the downtown area.

I was in Linden’s main downtown area (sometimes referred to as “down-the-road” from Amelia’s Ward) a few times recently.

FEATURED

I am working to be published.

I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.

About THIS BLOG

I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.

I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.
