Inside Fahmeena Odetta's Head

Thoughts on a Friday

I am feeling less stressed and burdened today (some may say lighthearted). My eye still feels weird and I have other issues but I feel good. Listening to music also does this.

I found a deck of cards in my home. Similar to my current situation, cards may be viewed as evil (associated with gambling and so on) but cards could also be used for fun. For example, snap using cards is a game of matching and fun. I remember playing snap at President’s College. The girls enjoyed it. (See more on snap here: https://bicyclecards.com/how-to-play/snap/).  I also found a post that shared positive lessons learned from cards (https://grammargoddess.com/lessons-learned-from-playing-cards/). Isn’t it interesting? What does this all mean?

I need more days like today.

FEATURED

I am working to be published.

I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.

About THIS BLOG

I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.

I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.

I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
