Inside Fahmeena Odetta's Head

Use of Preprints

In 2025, I hoped major journals would select my papers for publishing. I discovered that the publishing process is a complex one and publishing my papers will take time. I made some of the papers public (can be viewed by anyone) using preprints. I was pleased that a lot of academics and students read the papers and thought it was good work. I recommend that academics put their work out there so others can review. The phrase ‘open publishing’ comes to mind.

Use the links in my ORCID profile for an easy way to review my papers. Link to my ORCID profile: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7559-8068.

FEATURED

I am working to be published.

I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.

About THIS BLOG

I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.

I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.

I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
