  • Update

Yesterday I tried to check my accounts and the status of other things in the US.I had some difficulty (I noticed some things changed). I hope everything will be better on Monday. I do not plan to travel to the US soon. Continue reading

  • What I hope people say

Today’s WordPress prompt:  Tell us one thing you hope people say about you. My response: I hope people say I am accomplished and inventive. Over the years, I have accomplished a lot. I was fast out of the gate. In primary and secondary schools, I was attending classes with older students (I was the youngest… Continue reading

  • Tamarind Tree

Tamarind leaves are shaped like a Christmas tree. Do you see it? Merry Christmas to everyone (Happy holidays, if Christmas is not your thing). I had tamarind balls recently (thanks to my relative RA). I enjoyed them. I also had good tamarind balls from a PC friend a few years ago.  My mother makes tamarind… Continue reading

  • Black Cake

There is usually black cake at Christmastime in Guyana. I recall that we made black cake every year – it was a “big thing” (important). It is one of the Christmas traditions in my family. Continue reading

  • Cashew Wine

I wrote about cashews or rose apples in a post yesterday. Cashews are used to make wine. Cashew wine is produced commercially. It has been at least 20 years since I have seen a cashew tree. I recall that the tree is first covered with flowers/blossoms before the fruit is “produced.” The blossoms usually fall… Continue reading

  • Walk in the light

Bible verse: 1 John 1:7: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. Continue reading

  • Cherries

I went walking yesterday. While walking, I stopped to pick cherries from a neighbor’s tree. The cherry trees here have lots of (are laden with) cherries. The cherries are sour and good. They help with digestion. I think cherries are very interesting. In Guyana, there is also the gamma cherries that are used in kite-making.… Continue reading

  • PhD Statistics

I did well at statistics at Northcentral University (during my PhD). I prepared some of the papers in Florida and some in Maryland while on vacation. I recall working on papers for one of the statistics courses at the Starbucks close to a popular mall in Maryland. I stayed there all day working on assignments.… Continue reading

  • Journal Search

I am currently deciding on a journal to submit my research to. I think it should be a journal that publishes papers on careers, preferably one that does not have very strict or rigid requirements (one that publishes more informal papers). A Google search provided some good options. The page https://careerwise.ceric.ca/2020/10/15/career-development-academic-journals/ includes career development journals from around… Continue reading

  • Memories

The Road of Memories (of Early Childhood) I walked along the road to school with my mom She taught me the song Morning Has Broken along the path When events led to a new school, I needed to take the road to join a bus I frequently ran out of steam along the road to… Continue reading

FEATURED

I am working to be published.

I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.

About THIS BLOG

I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.

I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.

I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
