Publishing Information
I found some very informative and interesting posts in LinkedIn that provide information and tips on academic publishing. It turns out that LinkedIn is a great resource for information on writing and publishing articles in journals. I was surprised to see that quite a few professors/PhDs posted information on their experiences. I just read a… Continue reading

Update 6/2
For me, today is a typical day at home. I am working on modifying one of the papers I prepared for publishing months ago. The modification is going well. I have new and different ideas that I am incorporating into the paper. It will be much better. This week went by very quickly. Time seems… Continue reading

Pen And Paper
Sometimes, I just need to use pen and paper to jot down my thoughts or make edits to a document. Maybe you have noticed this in my other blogs – for example: – In this post, I used my pen and a notebook to organize my thoughts and make major changes to my paper for… Continue reading

Recommendation Systems
I first learned of recommendation systems during my first literature review course at NCU. The topic was online reviews and recommender systems were one type of system connected with online reviews. I included some information in my paper on these systems that made recommendations to users. I thought they added a lot of value (were… Continue reading

Thankful
I was a little sick over the last two days. I feel better now and am listening to music. The music reminds me of the hospital. When I was in the hospital, beautiful gospel music filled the air for a time. One of the songs was ‘Goodness of God’ by CeCe Winans. Just as CeCe… Continue reading

What’s Happening Today 5/17
My recent doctor’s appointment went well. I need to complete the regular screenings (mammogram, cervical cancer screening, and so on) and see specialists for issues that I have. My doctor gave me a bunch of referrals for specialty services. I am working on setting up those appointments now. I am about to eat some strawberries.… Continue reading

Just look at the beautiful roses from yesterday, Mother’s Day! They were not for me, of course. I am not a mom. They were for my mother. I have a doctor’s appointment today that I am preparing for. Continue reading

Employee Feedback Technologies
I found an interesting article on technologies used for employee feedback, referred to as employee feedback technologies. It is: Employee feedback technologies in the human performance system, 2010By Nathan Bakerhttps://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/13678868.2010.501994 One of the technologies/techniques is 360-degree feedback. I was not familiar with it so I looked it up. I found a lot of resources on… Continue reading

Feedback
Have you ever received feedback that did not align with your values? How do you know when to reject feedback? My mother loves to provide her opinions about my hair, my outfit, and a lot more. I have heard so much from her that I do not pay too much attention to her criticisms. She… Continue reading

Old Vs. New
Today, I decided that I needed tonics, multivitamins, nerve supplements, and so on to cure some of my ailments and be healthier. I am currently reviewing options. I am particularly interested in new products. I have very good opinions (memories) of products from “yesteryear” too – products I have known since childhood. I recall brands… Continue reading
FEATURED
I am working to be published.
I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.
About THIS BLOG
I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.
I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.
I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
