Contracting Opportunities
I spent some time looking through contracting opportunities with the federal government. I am interested in learning more about their solicitations for survey services, writing services, and usability/design (I am available for work in these areas. For additional information on my background in survey services and usability, see Post on background in statistics and Post on… Continue reading

Interesting Projects
In LinkedIn, I stumbled upon a request for old essays for an AI-project. The researcher – Dr. Stephens – is working on creating an AI-powered teaching assistant. It is very interesting. I am thinking of providing some of my old essays. The AI project by Dr. Stephens reminds me of another project I contributed to.… Continue reading

Still Catching Up
Over the last few days, I was working on revising my paper on technology solutions for hand hygiene compliance. The journal requested the changes. I finally finished the updates a short while ago and resubmitted the paper for publishing. I would really like the paper to be published. It is in a “different” format (much… Continue reading

Car Accident Update
My insurance claim was “on hold” because Allstate could not reach me. Of course, I was away for a while dealing with health issues. Allstate Insurance left me several messages (mostly email messages). I contacted Allstate about my claim a few days ago to restart the processing. The Claim Handler was ready and got things… Continue reading

Catching Up
I returned to my publishing work today. I am still catching up (“getting caught up”) on my projects/work. I needed to make a small change to a paper I submitted so it would be forwarded to the editor/reviewers. I made the change today. I received the email about the change in late February. Continue reading

Feeling Better
I am feeling much better today. Rehab was a success. I am now able to move around more. Before I started rehab, I didn’t know much about it. I am now a fan of Rehabilitation/Physical Therapy centers! Rehab is not only for athletes. Continue reading

Familiar Names
I see familiar names around me. Hill-Rom is familiar because of my research into technology solutions for hand hygiene compliance during my Research Methods course. Underrated Skill
The ability to write clearly is the most underrated skill all successful people have, according to Dr. Juliette Han in her January 2023 CNBC article https://www.cnbc.com/2023/01/25/harvard-neuroscientist-shares-the-underrated-skill-successful-people-have-especially-introverts.html. The article argues that a person who writes well (is thoughtful and strategic) will also be successful at other things such as public speaking and small talk. The article provides… Continue reading

Wish For Every Day
Each day would be better if I spent more time with family and friends enjoying life and creating new memories. It would be like attending one of the events/gatherings my family has – such as birthday parties and graduations – every day. Over the years, I attended those events when I can but I missed… Continue reading

Away
I was away for a while – in the hospital dealing with health issues. I am now out of the hospital and doing better. Please note that I am not yet fully involved in my usual/normal activities. Continue reading
FEATURED
I am working to be published.
I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.
About THIS BLOG
I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.
I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.
I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
