Personal Benefits of Plant Care
There are many interesting blogs out there in the blogosphere. I found an interesting blog that reported on the benefits of having houseplants (indoor plants). The homeowner learns patience, gets some practice on establishing a routine, and so on. Read the blog post here: https://www.houseofkojo.com/blogs/house-of-kojo/plant-care-is-self-care-seven-lessons-we-can-learn-from-our-houseplants. When I was young (growing up in Linden, Guyana), I helped… Continue reading

Design
Good morning from Linden, Guyana!l This old photo of me showed up in my Facebook memories: That was a “no makeup” look. I really liked that scarf I was wearing on my head (I like scarfs in general). I recall that I was at my sister’s place/house when I took the photo. I stayed there… Continue reading

Looking Back
Yesterday, I reviewed a verse from Genesis in the bible that provided the reason why Lot’s wife became a pillar of salt. It was because she looked back. Isn’t it interesting that we “look back” on social media all the time? ThrowbackThursday is a very popular hashtag. There are usually millions of posts that look… Continue reading

Throwback
Many years ago I added a post in Facebook about my mother’s tomato plants in her yard. She had a “kitchen garden.” Every summer she “kept” a garden (planted tomatoes, herbs, and so on) to supplement food in her kitchen. In the post, I mentioned that a black cat was lying next to the plants. Continue reading

Mental Health
I generally do not like to discuss my health condition and health history in a public way, but I think it is important to share some of this information in this blog. Note that I was diagnosed with a fairly minor mental health condition that is not associated with weird thoughts, thoughts of suicide, and… Continue reading

Childhood Performance
I decided to pull together information in posts that provide insight into my performance during my childhood. Wouldn’t it be exceptional if a system/application could do this? I will begin with previous posts on my performance at Watooka Day School, a school that was managed by the bauxite company (called Guymine when I was there; called… Continue reading

Chinese in Guyana
Good morning from Linden, Guyana! Recently, I thought of Chinese vegetables and looked up the vegetables considered Chinese in my Pinterest board ‘Chinese vegetables’ (https://www.pinterest.com/fahmeenaodetta/chinese-vegetables/). Guyanese eat a lot of pak choi, Chinese calaloo, and bora (Chinese long beans). I grew up eating these vegetables. Guyanese also eat “chicken foot” which is popular in China. … Continue reading
ABOUT ME
I am working to be published. In the next few months, I would like to publish my PhD papers as well as lessons from my life.
I am on a break from PhD studies at National University, formerly Northcentral University (NCU). At NU, I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.
About THIS BLOG
I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.
I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. Usability/user experience is one of my topics. Click on the ‘usability’ label/tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. I have new ideas you may be interested in. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.
