  • Ratings

It amazes me that ratings for food (basically anything) could be very different from person to person. Here is an interesting show where Caribbean Moms rate the rice and peas of other Caribbean Moms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHToGvuZ7t4. I don’t think I would rate any of the food a zero like one of the Moms did. I don’t know Continue reading

  • CARICOM Meeting

The Communique of the 47th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM countries provides good information on the state of affairs of member countries. It provides a nice synopsis of issues facing member countries (it is available on LinkedIn). It was good to see a strategy for regional digital resilience, including Continue reading

  • Lemons; In the Kitchen; Blenders

In a recent post, I noted that I did not get the lemons I wanted so I used limes instead. I was watching a video recently where the woman complained that she could not find the lemons she wanted to use for making lemon water for breakfast. It was good information (link to video: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/RyygSt9QV2X38nFM/?mibextid=oFDknk). The Continue reading

  • The Orange

The orange is special I have come to realize When I was little, I did not like oranges much My mother liked to put in quarters I ate it just because it was there The tangerine and grapefruit were similar and better options I could peel the tangerine easily And it was easy to halve Continue reading

  • Papaw

Working, working, working… My Papaw/Papaya Poem: I am unsure about whether the papaw is seasonal Like other fruits in the Caribbean such as the mango, jamoon, and awara In other words, it is not clear to me whether the trees produce a lot of the fruit at a certain time of the year It does Continue reading

  • Laundry

Guyana and other Caribbean nations are lucky to have warm weather all year round It makes sense to take advantage of it especially when it comes to laundry And there is usually hanging of clothes on a clothesline for the sun and wind to dry Clothes hung neatly using pegs called clothes pins They dry Continue reading

  • Wanting to Publish

My reason for wanting to publish in academic journals was (and still is) to be known as an expert who is competent and can contribute important ideas to projects because she has important/impressive contributions under her belt. I found an interesting post on the benefits of writing and publishing journal articles: I am also discovering Continue reading

FEATURED

I am working to be published.

I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.

About THIS BLOG

I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.

I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.
