Guyana Future
Good morning from Linden, Guyana! I saw an essay competition for Guyanese children on Facebook that got me thinking about the development of the country. The main theme of my poems is ‘working from home’ – production/manufacturing- like operations from a private residence. This information is useful when thinking of designs for homes and also… Continue reading

Convenience
Continuing my thought on the Personal Benefits of Plant Care, the available substitutes for living houseplants look just as good in the home but they do not require watering or other care. I had some of those substitutes too. They are made from plasticy materials but look quite real. The convenience (of not watering the… Continue reading

Title for My Story
A quick 15 minute response to the question: There was a show called Biography on A&E television. I enjoyed watching that show (it probably still airs on tv). From that show, I learned a lot about prominent people and appreciated learning about their background and struggles. Some of the backgrounds were a complete surprise. In… Continue reading

Valentine’s Day
It is Valentine’s Day! A verse on love came up today as the verse of the day. Maybe the app/system made an appropriate choice based on the day. Matthew 5:43-44 You have heard that it was said, “Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.” But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those… Continue reading

Question and Answer
So, what happened to the poem on (the fruit) mamee? A mamee’s skin (the outside of the fruit – similar to a banana’s skin) makes me think of leather. I want to write a poem on fruits that make me think of or remind me of leather. I found this related post in Facebook: Please… Continue reading

Personal Benefits of Plant Care
There are many interesting blogs out there in the blogosphere. I found an interesting blog that reported on the benefits of having houseplants (indoor plants). The homeowner learns patience, gets some practice on establishing a routine, and so on. Read the blog post here: https://www.houseofkojo.com/blogs/house-of-kojo/plant-care-is-self-care-seven-lessons-we-can-learn-from-our-houseplants. When I was young (growing up in Linden, Guyana), I helped… Continue reading

Design
Good morning from Linden, Guyana!l This old photo of me showed up in my Facebook memories: That was a “no makeup” look. I really liked that scarf I was wearing on my head (I like scarfs in general). I recall that I was at my sister’s place/house when I took the photo. I stayed there… Continue reading

Looking Back
Yesterday, I reviewed a verse from Genesis in the bible that provided the reason why Lot’s wife became a pillar of salt. It was because she looked back. Isn’t it interesting that we “look back” on social media all the time? ThrowbackThursday is a very popular hashtag. There are usually millions of posts that look… Continue reading
FEATURED
I am working to be published.
I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.
About THIS BLOG
I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.
I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.
I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
