Lunch
My lunch on this self-care day was callaloo cookup with fried fish. It was delicious. I like to eat callaloo because it is a good source of iron and also potassium. The fish was very good. I eat a lot of fish in Guyana. Continue reading

Maintaining My Health
Good morning from Linden, Guyana! Today is self-care day. It makes sense for the WordPress prompt for today to be: What strategies do you use to maintain your health and wellbeing? I was seriously ill for a while so maintaining my health is very important. I try to eat well and exercise regularly. I believe Continue reading

New Day
Good morning from Linden, Guyana! The weekend went by very quickly. It is Monday morning already! I received an acknowledgement of receipt of the paper I submitted. Hopefully, I will hear good things (have good feedback) after the first review. In general, I don’t like review processes. I just saw a post that made me Continue reading

Nutrition Rainbow
Today, a post by WebMD informed that purple foods as a group provide common nutrients that protect cells from damage. It was the first time I saw purple foods grouped together for a discussion on nutrition. I will now associate purple with something else. I knew of other color groupings such as orange foods (pumpkin, Continue reading

My Diet; Food
Good morning from Linden, Guyana! It is a warm and beautiful morning here in Amelia’s Ward. I feel like having a fruit salad for breakfast. I had lots of papaw recently. I am enjoying the fruit here in Guyana. My diet also includes a lot of fish and chicken (similar to my diet in the Continue reading

Dinner
I am having cook-up rice or just cook-up for dinner. It is homemade rather than store-bought. I eat a lot of cook-up (which is very popular in Guyana). I like that there is variety – different types of cook-up such as red peas cook-up, black eye cook-up, and channa cook-up. The meat used could also Continue reading

I am all about foods for healing. I like to read about (keep up-to-date on) nutrients and other benefits Continue reading

Update; Recent foods
Good morning from Linden, Guyana! I went out for a very short walk today. I don’t believe it is Monday morning already. The weekend went by in a flash. My mother made “some nice macaroni stew” on Sunday. I enjoyed it. I also had some callaloo recently. That was good too. Recently, my mother has Continue reading

Food In Guyana
The different peoples/cultures contributed to the food in the country. For example, pepperpot is based on a traditional Amerindian dish. Metemgee is from Afro-Guyanese. And, roti and dhal from the Indo-Guyanese. It is good that people do not only consume (or stick with) the food from their original ancestors. Everyone eats and enjoys the food. Continue reading
FEATURED
I am working to be published.
I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.
About THIS BLOG
I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.
I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.
I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
