The Road of Memories (of Early Childhood) I walked along the road to school with my mom She taught me the song Morning Has Broken along the path When events led to a new school, I needed to take the road to join a bus I frequently ran out of steam along the road to… Continue reading

New Morning
Good morning from Linden, Guyana (in the smallest county Demerara)! The temperature is reported to be 31 degrees Celsius -weather provided by timeanddate.com (https://www.timeanddate.com/weather/guyana/linden/ext). I noticed a world clock on timeanddate.com. It reminded me of the hotel I ended up staying in/at in Georgetown. In the hotel lobby, there were clocks showing the time in… Continue reading

Fruit in the Caribbean
The fruit I eat are usually store-bought. In stores, there is a lot of fruit available for easy purchase – displayed well and at a fair price. As expected, fruit is “from the original source” fresh (the equivalent of farm-fresh) if picked from a tree. I remember there was much fruit-picking by children in Linden… Continue reading

Fun Things
It is Monday morning in Georgetown, Guyana! (Yes, I am away from the US – I am in Guyana, South America, the country of my birth). Guyana is a good place for a vacation. There is nice weather and lots to do. It is good place to “play.” I had fun times in Guyana. I… Continue reading

Water through outside pipes
In a lot of homes in Guyana, there are tanks for storing water for use in the home. The tanks may channel/run the water to the kitchen sink, bathroom, and so on, but it is different from the way water is made available through the faucet (“kitchen sink pipe”) or bathroom in the US. There… Continue reading

Linden Trade School
I’m very impressed that the Linden Technical Institute (aka Trade School) provided “well constructed” bunk beds to President’s College recently. The post informed that it was an uphill task that they managed to accomplish. The post shown below (along with a post on a survey I completed at that institution)…. Continue reading

Special Trip For A Performance While At Watooka Day School
I recall that I was a part of something special when I was a student at Watooka Day School (then a top primary school in my hometown Linden, Guyana). I played the flutophone with other members of the school flutophone band in the capital city Georgetown (I think that was our only performance outside of… Continue reading

Where am I from?
(Videos provide answers.) https://fahmeenaodetta.blogspot.com/2023/08/where-am-i-from_5.html FYI: Although Guyana is technically in South America, it is a member of (a part of) the CARIbbean COMmunity. Guyana has a lot in common with other members of CARICOM. My CARICOM Pinterest board (https://www.pinterest.com/fahmeenaodetta/caricom-caribbean-community-guyana-other-caribbean/) highlights this. FEATURED
I am working to be published.
I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.
About THIS BLOG
I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.
I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.
I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
