Update 4/21
I am enjoying a cup of green tea while I work. I am steadily getting the work on my hand hygiene paper done. I decided to have a second pair of eyes review my latest version so I sent the paper to my father for review. Hopefully, he has some time to do a thorough… Continue reading

Lots Of Work
Yesterday, I received emails from two journals. One of the journals asked for more revisions to the manuscript. The other told me that my paper is “not sufficiently developed to proceed to the next step” and I should “continue to refine my work.” Both of the journals provided really good feedback/information. I actually received ideas… Continue reading

Still Catching Up
Over the last few days, I was working on revising my paper on technology solutions for hand hygiene compliance. The journal requested the changes. I finally finished the updates a short while ago and resubmitted the paper for publishing. I would really like the paper to be published. It is in a “different” format (much… Continue reading

Catching Up
I returned to my publishing work today. I am still catching up (“getting caught up”) on my projects/work. I needed to make a small change to a paper I submitted so it would be forwarded to the editor/reviewers. I made the change today. I received the email about the change in late February. Continue reading

Publishing Update 2/20
I received a few rejection letters. I need to find new journals to submit the papers to. Just as a lot of researchers say, publishing in academic journals is challenging. Here is the link to an example from one researcher: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.chas.0c00111 Continue reading

Paper For Publishing
While working on a paper for publishing on online communities, it occurred to me that the shepherding program described in one of the included articles is a lot like the pastorial system I experienced at President’s College. A look at how that program was run and its success would make a great paper for publishing.… Continue reading

Update 2/1
I am still working on updating my hand hygiene (electronic monitoring) paper for publication. I have passed the half way point. In the paper, I consider previous research that utilize both qualitative and quantitative designs, similar to another paper I prepared. Continue reading

Success Research
Always good to find research that is similar to mine. This research by a Stanford professor investigated determinants/keys of success by identifying common traits in successful people: Keys To Success: 6 Traits The Most Successful People Have In Commonhttps://bakadesuyo.com/2013/08/keys-to-success/ My research looked at successful people who are “different.” They are from a different culture or… Continue reading
FEATURED
I am working to be published.
I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.
About THIS BLOG
I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.
I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.
I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
