Being Merry
I recall there was a lot of music and singing in Guyana. “School children” sang patriotic/national songs in school. Neighbors sang along to music from the radio or from their “music system.” Everyone seemed to know “oldies.” Riders sang along to music in minibuses etc. I remember the music piece “PC Nights” that was based Continue reading

Linden Trade School
I’m very impressed that the Linden Technical Institute (aka Trade School) provided “well constructed” bunk beds to President’s College recently. The post informed that it was an uphill task that they managed to accomplish. The post shown below (along with a post on a survey I completed at that institution)…. Continue reading

Bangs
I remember that bangs were a “thing” for many years during high school. I guess we liked the look. Our bangs were much different from the bangs shown in an article I found (Link to article: https://therighthairstyles.com/category/haircuts/hairstyles-with-bangs/). The article includes a collection of other articles on bangs. The article adds much value too. Continue reading

Labels
I found a quote by Steve Maraboli that reminded me of my green folder book in high school. (I mentioned this green folder book in a previous post on my Lessons Project. Link to post: https://fahmeenaodetta.com/2022/07/23/life-lessons/). I added a quote in the green book on the need for labels to inform others about the character Continue reading

Rings
I found a class ring that reminded me of my gold ring from President’s College.I also liked a lord’s prayer ring I found on etsy.com. This is a good idea. Continue reading

A-Levels
Preparing for the GCE A-Level examinations (at President’s College) was tough. The school had trouble finding teachers and came up with out-of-the-box solutions. The Accounting class traveled to the University of Guyana for classes (a professional from the Accounting Department taught the class). Another lecturer visited the school to teach Statistics. We did not have Continue reading

High school
I recently shared a photo of my high school graduation. I looked very happy in the photo. I had good reason to be happy. I was the youngest student in my batch and graduated on time. There were minimum requirements for graduation. There were also minimum requirements to move forward each year (from grade to Continue reading

Horse
Just a thought, isn’t it interesting that riders of horses are placed in a power position? The saddle provides comfort. The stirrups could be adjusted so that the legs hang at just the right place. Riders kick the side of the animal to cause it to move. Some riders wear boots with spikes to cause pain Continue reading

Dancing
In high school, I was “into” music (I was in the band, I was a member of a girl group called Lauren and the Shining Pearls etc.). I was not into dancing as much. I was not a member of the girl’s dance group and I did not dance much at parties. I did a Continue reading
FEATURED
I am working to be published.
I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.
About THIS BLOG
I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.
I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.
I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
