Lots Of Travel
Remembering those days when I had to be ready and waiting at a specified location/spot to be picked up and transported to President’s College (PC). The school was far away – not close to my house. I waited for pickup at a shed in Amelia’s Ward, Linden. One other student, Mark, was also picked up… Continue reading

School Biscuits
Months ago, I commented on a post by Visit Guyana on school biscuits provided to children in Guyana. I ate a lot of those (SIMAP) biscuits in Guyana. At President’s College, I ate them as a late-night (10pm) snack. The box came out late at night for us to line up for the cookies. When… Continue reading

Music, Still Working On Papers
Today, I am remembering the Kenny G songs I listened to for hours in the dorm using that red cassette player. Here is one of my favorites:https://youtu.be/OOO4ROO_sPM I am still working on editing my papers for publishing. Continue reading

Not Indian
Some believe I am Indian (maybe because of my name). Someone once told me there are a lot of girls named Fahmeena in Bangladesh. I am not Indian. My parents are also not Indian. Guyana has lots of Indian citizens (they make up one of the six races in the country — this presentation I… Continue reading

French, Paris
One of my personal projects was to redo a project from my high school French class to prepare a summary of important places in France – called Voici Paris. I wanted to investigate the quantity of information available online for such a paper, including the pictures available for use. It was very difficult to obtain… Continue reading

Ties
Today, I am remembering the leather band/bracelet I made in an arts & craft session at President’s College (PC). During the session, I learned to cut the leather (the material to make the bracelet), “knit” the leather, and make the loop and bunched knot needed to attach it to the wrist. The finished product looked… Continue reading

PC Certificates
I found my ALevels certificate and other important documents hidden away in a drawer. I thought I would share…. In addition to GCE courses/subjects, I wrote and passed CXC examinations in 1991 (for different subjects). Continue reading

Background In Statistical Analysis, Surveys
Using a questionnaire to collect information from people (conducting surveys) is an important part of research. I have lots of experience conducting surveys. My first survey was for an A-Level project at President’s College. The course/subject was Pure Mathematics with Statistics (it was for the Statistics part). I designed the questionnaire and went out into… Continue reading

Red Bag
FlashbackFriday I ran across a red duffel bag that reminded me of the red bag full of books I took with me to President’s College from home. That red bag was not very big but was very heavy. Link to bag at www.profishop.us Continue reading

Life Lessons
I have been researching/testing my determinants of success (my 7Ps) on LinkedIn. I benefited from some posts and comments. I developed the 7Ps from my Life Lessons project. It was after analysis of quotes, proverbs, graduation stories, and so on on achievement and success. I created analysis groups/categories – which I shared on social media… Continue reading
FEATURED
I am working to be published.
I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.
About THIS BLOG
I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.
I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.
I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
