I just listened to two videos on jobs at the big technology companies (videos: https://youtu.be/mJqrX_uKMTw?si=Spk8pjEQVz-uVE2L and https://youtu.be/ijkTBtBWJWs?si=JrnCf5Mlo2kPtuzz). I was surprised that there are so many layoffs at the companies. According to the first video, so far in 2024 over 75,000 tech workers have been laid off. Those companies were always viewed as perfect employers that offer outstanding benefits and job security. Now job security and stability are not the same. However, I find it hard to believe that working at the tech companies is no longer a dream job. Companies such as Google, Amazon, and Meta remain excellent companies to work for.
ABOUT ME
I am working to be published. In the next few months, I would like to publish my PhD papers as well as lessons from my life.
I am on a break from PhD studies at National University, formerly Northcentral University (NCU). At NU, I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.
About THIS BLOG
I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.
I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. Usability/user experience is one of my topics. Click on the ‘usability’ label/tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. I have new ideas you may be interested in. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag. If you are curious about my choices about God, click on the ‘WhyGodForever’ label.
I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
