PhD funding

I am happy that I invested in a PhD. I am better off because of the degree program (You may know that I wanted to join a program in Florida. I ended up in another). Funding it (tuition, expenses such as food and transportation) was a challenge.

Funding for a PhD and finances during the program is an issue for many. I remember my struggles during my PhD program. I had several “side jobs” but still had issues. I missed my regular paycheck from an IT job. I sought funding from different sources.

There is good information out there on the finances of PhD students. I was piqued by a website on Personal Finance for PhDs. There were different experiences.

I am working to be published.

I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. About THIS BLOG

I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
