  • Small town life

I am certain you have seen writings about life in and lessons from a small town (example: https://www.readunwritten.com/2015/04/03/what-growing-up-in-a-small-town-teaches-you-about-life/). My poembook is similar in a lot of ways. It includes informative poems about my important experiences in the town I grew up in with a summary of top lessons from growing up there. My life in… Continue reading

  • Blurring lines

That Anne Carson, the new Nobel Prize winner, blurs lines/categories in literature was a surprise. I read with interest that she writes “novels in verse, essays that read like poems, and poems that read like philosophy.” My book is similar (it blurs lines too). Wow! I received the book just yesterday… Copies of my book… Continue reading

  • My Book

Short video on memories that made a difference for my book: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1C8idR75rM/ The poems in my book provide insight into my life in Linden, Guyana, South America before President’s College. It explains a lot – some of my choices may make more sense to you. Obtain your copy at: https://www.amazon.com/Growing-Up-Town-Linden-Fahmi/dp/1837948542. Extra: A short poem about… Continue reading

  • Icicles

This #ThrowbackThursday I remember the custard icicles I enjoyed when I was in Linden. I saw the icicles offered for sale in a packet (about 10 in the packet) and wanted to try it. I know a whole lot about icicles. As a little girl, I saw icicles being made. I enjoyed different flavors. I… Continue reading

  • Linden

As the name indicates, Watooka Day School was in Watooka. Watooka was a privileged part of Linden for executives and managers of the bauxite company (used to be mostly expatriates). I was there during school hours and in another area after school. I got to see and experience different environments/lives. This may be evident from… Continue reading

ABOUT ME

I am working to be published. In the next few months, I would like to publish my PhD papers as well as lessons from my life.

I am on a break from PhD studies at National University, formerly Northcentral University (NCU). At NU, I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.

About THIS BLOG

I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.

I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. Usability/user experience is one of my topics. Click on the ‘usability’ label/tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. I have new ideas you may be interested in. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.  If you are curious about my choices about God, click on the ‘WhyGodForever’ label.

I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
