  • New Year

This is my first post in 2026! It is a new year and I expect good things to happen. It is normal here in Maryland. I have little planned for today. I do have some appointments coming up so I would be getting dressed up for going out soon. I do need a few items… Continue reading

  • Update

The new year is almost here. I am looking forward to new beginnings. I should be better off in 2026. At some point in 2026, I expect to return to work in good health. I hope to complete my PhD in 2026 too. I am not feeling my best right now. I decided to take… Continue reading

  • Out

I was out. I had a good time. Feels good at Christmas. (The green frosting on my cupcake made me happy. It makes me think of a Christmas tree.) Continue reading

  • Christmas

This Christmas, because of my health situation, I did not decorate the Christmas tree or put up Christmas lights. It is an unusual Christmas. I remember the excitement around Christmas in past years. There was an excessive amount of excitement around Christmas when I was a young girl. Growing up in Linden Guyana, it was… Continue reading

  • Thankful

In 2025, I faced health challenges. I felt older than my years. I now appreciate life more and am thankful for the little things. I communicate this to others all the time. I remember I gave a small speech about being thankful I am alive on my birthday (just before I blew out the candles).… Continue reading

  • Use of Preprints

In 2025, I hoped major journals would select my papers for publishing. I discovered that the publishing process is a complex one and publishing my papers will take time. I made some of the papers public (can be viewed by anyone) using preprints. I was pleased that a lot of academics and students read the… Continue reading

  • Need for End of Year Review

In my email, I saw that a year in review was available from LinkedIn. I didn’t open it. It is something I would like to do based on my blog posts. It is a great idea! I also saw a post asking for a word of the year. That is something I will think about… Continue reading

  • God’s Love

If God is for us who can be against us…Nothing can separate us from the love of God… Continue reading

  • Life is difficult

Life is difficult for a lot of people. Some are facing layoffs, some have health issues, and so on. Sometimes it is difficult to escape problems. Trusting in the Lord helps. Here is an interesting video I found on how a company usually handles a layoff: Continue reading

  • Father-Daughter Time

I just read the news story on the courtside appearance of Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy with her father. From the photo it seemed that the two had a good time. It is good to see that fathers going out with their daughters is mainstream. You may know that I have lunch with my father from… Continue reading

FEATURED

I am working to be published.

I completed 11 signature assignments – significant papers with original ideas. In one paper, I foresaw specific problems at a major company. In another, I designed a study (with statistical analyses) to explain why videos do not significantly enhance or improve online reviews. I worked alone. My signature assignments available at: https://fahmeenaodettasignaturepapers.tumblr.com.

About THIS BLOG

I created this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas and to practice writing. Why practice writing? I was on a break from my PhD and not writing much. I needed to continue writing regularly – I wrote and submitted weekly assignments/papers.
I also track my mental health using this blog.

I am currently working on publishing my papers in academic journals. Click the ‘paperforpublishing’ tag in the tags section below for my last status update. My main area of specialization is usability/user experience. Click on the ‘usability’ tag to view my posts, including ideas, on usability. If you are here for information on my success research, click on the ‘success’ tag. If you are here for information on my hometown, click on the ‘lindenguyana’ tag.

I welcome comments. Submit your comments and feedback at any time. I prefer that you use Facebook for comments, but feel free to comment in any of the blogs or on Twitter.
